Dyne test pens for plastic / poly films
Test inks can make statements on the adhesive strength of printing inks, coatings and adhesives on all surfaces such as plastic, metal and glass as well as on the degree of cleanliness in mN/m (dyne/cm).
The Printec dyne 38 pen is the easiest and quickest way to check if a plastic surface has sufficient surface tension energy. For plastic / poly films such as polyethylene (P E) or polypropylene (PP). The ability of a plastic surface to absorb printing inks is directly related to its surface energy. The Printec dyne 38 test pens perform very well on most non-absorptive materials.
How does the Printec Dyne 38 test pen work?
Simply draw the Test Pen tip across the surface to be tested. If the ink line shrinks or beads within 1-2 seconds then the surface does not have a surface energy of 38 Dynes/cm (mN/m) or has not been treated to the level 38 Dynes. If the test pen line remains as marked and does not shrink then the surface IS treated to a level of 38 Dynes/cm (mN/m) or higher.
